On the afternoon of September 12, School of Urban Railway Transportation held an exchange symposium on the university-enterprise secondment program of the Shanghai Shentong Metro Group Co., Ltd. Modern Industrial School of Urban Railway Transportation. The symposium was attended by the college’s Party and administrative leaders, department heads, and the second batch of secondees from Shentong Metro Group.

Wan Huilin, Party Secretary of School of Urban Railway Transportation, extended a warm welcome to the two secondees from Shentong Metro Group on behalf of the College Party Committee. She emphasized that the two-way secondment program serves as a vital link in deepening university-enterprise collaborative education. By involving enterprise professionals in revising talent cultivation plans, curriculum development, and experimental training, the latest frontline technologies are brought into the classroom, enhancing students' ability to solve complex engineering problems. She expressed hope that during their secondment, the enterprise professionals would effectively integrate their years of accumulated work and practical experience into the college's development, thereby driving forward its various initiatives.

Zhu Lin, Vice Dean of School of Urban Railway Transportation, noted that as alumni of the university, the two enterprise professionals possess a profound understanding of the alignment between corporate needs and the college's cultivation programs. She highlighted that leveraging this advantage could help build a communication bridge for students, promote closed-loop management of student cultivation quality, and precisely optimize training plans based on enterprise requirements and talent development goals. Additionally, their dual understanding of both the enterprise and the students would enable them to effectively convey corporate culture to students and provide comprehensive guidance on future career development.

During the meeting, the heads of the Communication & Signaling Department and the Operations Management Department introduced the job responsibilities and tasks for the secondment positions. The secondees from Shentong Metro Group expressed that through in-depth participation in the college's program development, course teaching, and research projects, they could broaden their technical horizons while contributing to the construction of the industrial college, the development of micro-degree programs, and collaborative university-enterprise education. They also emphasized their commitment to helping create a new model for cultivating high-level application-oriented talents.

The university-enterprise secondment program has established an effective communication bridge between the two sides, facilitating the organic integration of enterprise practical experience with university teaching and research, and jointly creating mutually beneficial outcomes from the secondment initiative.
